KYAA held it's annual event on October 29th- 31st in San Francisco. Over 80 Knanaya Catholic and Jacobite young adults from the U.S. and Canada gathered to attend this event. Some of the highlights of the weekend were having a volunteer event at San Francisco City Impact, a Christian organization providing a number of different social services to individuals living in one of San Francisco's poorest neighborhoods. Our group served a role in helping to get the building ready for use. We also delivered groceries and visited neighbors in the area. This activity touched many of our members as we were able to give back to the less fortunate. (For more information on San Francisco City Impact please click on their youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/SFCityImpact.) Another event brought us to St. Patrick's Cathedral where we attended mass and heard it performed in Latin. Our evening activities were focused on social networking and allowed the young adults from our community to interact and meet people from all over North America. The weekend was an overall success but could not have been done without the hard work of the following individuals: Anish Chittalakattu Roshen Edathil Jaime Karickanalil Stacy Kunnassery Bessie Muttathil Sumesh Neycheril Tina Thaitharappel Jimmy Vachachira If you are interested in learning more about KYAA or you are a young adult who would like to help host an event please email us at kyaainfo@yahoo.com or facebook us on the KYAA page. |
